Alyssa Carnegie is the Communications Director at Oceana in Belize.
She is a marketing and communications strategist with over 14 years of experience working in PR (public relations) and marketing across public, private and non-profit spheres, and has a proven ability to design and lead creative and collaborative initiatives that positively impact an organization’s visibility and strategic direction.
Her previous professional experience includes working as a Communications Consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank and as the Director of Marketing and Industry Relations at the Belize Tourism Board, where she has landed coverage in local and international print and broadcast outlets, including The New York Times, AdWeek and AdAge.
In addition to her extensive PR and marketing experience, Alyssa is member of the US National Honor Society for International Studies – Sigma Iota Rho and currently serves as the Vice-President of the Board for Haven House, a post she’s held for the past 3 years. In this capacity, she has worked with numerous national partners to address domestic and gender-based violence issues.
Alyssa holds a BA in International Studies and Political Science from Wheeling Jesuit University, and a MA in International Political Economy from the University of Warwick, England.
