Born in San Pedro Town on the small island of Ambergis Caye, Kelsie has always had a deep love and appreciation for the ocean she grew up next to.
Having pursued her degree at the University of Belize in Natural Resource Management, she knew she wanted to gain a better appreciation of the intricacies of the natural world, applying knowledge and skills to the unique and varied natural resources of her country, Belize. Kelsie began volunteering with Oceana as a wavemaker in 2014, and then officially joined the team in May 2016 as our Administrative/Executive Assistant. She works directly under our Office Administrator and Vice President providing administrative and accounting support, and also works along with our Communications and Grassroots Outreach team providing strategic and logistical support. Working along with an organization with a goal to protect and preserve our Belizean waters from the dangers of offfshore drilling is what keeps Kelsie driven and determined.
