Amelita Knowles is a paralegal; she assisted in the research and compilation of the supplement to the Compendium on the Environmental Protection & Natural Resources Management Legislation in Belize 1996-2011, funded by Belize’s Department of Environment.
She has a wide range of work experience from frontline and managerial positions including teaching and enjoys working in the field to help protect Belize’s environment. She grew up on the island of Caye Caulker and has a strong affinity for the sea. She enjoys sporting activities and has a passion for cycling, a sport in which she successfully competed on at the national level. She has also been active in groups such as the Beltec Steel Band and the Rotaract Club of Belize. Amelita stands by her alma mater’s motto: “deeds not words.”
